Hey! I am Peggy
I knew I wanted to be an artist even before I understood what an artist was. By the age of two, I was drawing recognizable subjects, and my parents were extremely supportive, encouraging me all along. I attended Colorado State University and received a BFA in Illustration. I had planned on becoming a professional illustrator, but life got busy after I married an Equine Veterinarian, my second love. Horses became my full-time job, as I focused on breeding, training, and selling competitive dressage sport horses. Raising two children and managing the farm alongside my husband’s large veterinary practice kept me away from art for a long time.
After our youngest graduated from college, I decided to pick up a brush again just for fun. And it was FUN! I dove in deep, and it wasn’t long before I considered finding gallery representation. Having galleries handle the selling gave me more freedom to paint. In 2016, my husband and I sold the farm and moved to the West Elk Mountains in Southwestern Colorado, a ranching and farming community that provides endless inspiration for my paintings.
